 "Great Idea-needs improvement" 2010-03-17
By Emily B.
This tub is a great idea, but has several problems with the execution. I never had too many problems with it deflating on its own, but a couple of times the drain plug came loose (big mess!). I didn't end up folding it down as much as I anticipated either because it does take longer than I would have liked. My biggest problem with this tub though, is that after only 4 months of use it ripped along the seam, so now I need to buy a new tub. I am disappointed because this is a very roomy tub that my very large 4 month old was enjoying.

Pros:

This tub does fold down to a great size (do not have to deflate to fold it unless you want to travel with it).

Soft back and bottom so baby is very comfy.

Nice and deep so baby doesn't get cold even at larger size (my baby is 18+ lbs)

Small enough to use over bathroom sink.

light-weight

Cons: As others have mentioned it requires several steps, which require some practice.

Baby does slide around-not ideal before baby has head control

Vinyl smells

Rips!!

UPDATE:

Summer Infant has a one year warranty and will replace the unit once I send it back to them (they send you a pre-paid shipping label), but I have to box it up and ship it.

 "Piece of Junk" 2010-01-27

Worst piece of junk I've ever bought. The inflatable piece wouldn't blow up like it was supposed to and the legs were very wobaly. Returned it immediately.

"Maybe not ideal for newborns but PERFECT for older babies and toddlers!" 2010-01-20

Wow, I am surprised at all the negative reviews on here. All I can say is, I absolutely love this tub! We used to have a Fisher-Price tub, and it was okay, but this one is so much better for our 10-month-old. It folds and unfolds easily and saves us so much space in our small apartment. And the tub itself is comfy (cushy inflatable lining instead of hard plastic) and relatively deep, so it keeps baby warmer in the bath and is more fun to play in! All the other baby tubs are small and shallow and more quickly outgrown. I can see how this tub might not be the best for small babies, but for a baby who can sit up, it is just perfect.

 "Don't buy this tub!" 2009-11-28

Why you shouldn't buy this tub:

1. The legs on this tub supposedly fold out and lock into place. But they don't lock well, so there's a chance the tub can collapse with your baby in it.

2. The area where the baby lays is supposedly inflatable (with multiple nozzles you have to blow into to inflate it). But you have to pinch the nozzle so tightly to get air into it, it's almost impossible to inflate.

3. Even if you get past the chance of it collapsing and the fact that you have to re-inflate it every time you want to use it, the tub doesn't fold away easily.

Don't buy this tub.

 "This tub blows." 2009-11-17

I must say, this was-without a doubt- the biggest waste of money. We haven't been able to inflate the tub, and it's not for lack of trying. The legs are not sturdy, our baby slides around in this tub, and it does not exactly fold easily to compact dimensions. If you're cramped for space and live say, in a box, then this tub is for you. If you have enough room to walk around in your bathroom, then just invest in a regular tub and save yourself the backache of trying to figure out where to stow this widget.
